FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Please review our policies and procedures. Also, if you have never received a massage from Rejuvinating Touch, please read our "New Client" packet. Thank you!
What is the difference between "in-call" and "out-call"?
-- "In-call" and "out-call" are options of the location where you receive your services. In-call is where your appointment takes place at the Rejuvinating Touch site. Out-call is when your therapist meets you at your home or place of business to provide your services to you. This out-call option is very beneficial in limiting the effect of your massage on your schedule. Out-call is also great for "massage parties" with friends/family or corporate events.

How often should I schedule a massage to feel the greatest benefits?
-- The more often you receive massages, the better you will feel. The results of massage happen over time. The optimal benefit will take place when you receive a massage at least once every three (3) weeks, while once per week is best. You should consult your therapist following your first massage to receive advice on a schedule or regiment of massage that will be most effective.
When is massage not suggested or allowed?
-- If you are on any anti-coagulants for blood clots or have a history of blood clots, massage may not be appropriate for you. Other types of medications can also cause your health to be unstable in regards to massage. Those with certain types of cancer and uncontrolled blood pressure should refrain from massage unless approved by their physician(s). Pregnant women in their first trimester or those with high-risk pregnancy should refrain from massage, however, massages during second and third trimesters are very beneficial. IMPORTANT: To protect your health, your therapist will review applicable medical history and any medications you are currently taking before your session. If you are unsure as to whether you should receive a massage, PLEASE consult your therapist and physician(s).
What should I expect from the massage? What is actually massaged?
-- For a typical full body massage your neck, back, arms, legs, and feet will be massaged. Only the body area receiving the massage will be exposed at any given time. NOTE: If you have an area you would like focused on during your massage, please inform your therapist so that your massage is as beneficial as possible.
How do I prepare for the massage?
-- A great way to prepare for your massage is to drink plenty of water that will help wash out toxins following the massage. Please be freshly showerd and clean before your massage to aid in relaxation and to allow the massage lotions/oils to work properly. IMPORTANT: Due to the increased blood flow during your massage, the use of alcohol, drugs, pain relievers, and blood thinners is not allowed.
What should I wear?
-- Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to get in and out of. Before the massage begins you will undress to your level of comfort. Most clients prefer to completely undress to prevent clothing from interfering in the massage. NOTE: Please keep in mind that whatever your comfort level, your therapist will leave the room and will not return until you are securely under the sheets and ready to proceed.
What do I do when the massage is over?
-- Your therapist will leave the room for you to re-dress. You will then be advised of any specific treatment, stretches, or suggestions for after care according to your needs. NOTE: Please remember to drink lots of water!
How will I feel after the massage?
-- At first you may feel light headed or dizzy, which will be normal after the increased blood flow from the massage. This will pass quickly after walking and drinking plenty of water (again, very important!). During the days following your first few massages certain areas may feel sore. This, too, is normal because during massage you are re-training your muscles. After a few sessions your soreness will decrease as your body and muscles become stronger.
How long will my massage last?
-- You will receive a full 60 or 90 minute massage depending on the appointed time you have reserved. If time is available, you may add on more services for an additional charge.
How do I pay for my massage?
-- Payment for your service(s) is collected at the end of your appointment unless you pre-paid on our website with a credit or debit card. Cash and personal/business checks are accepted (checks must be from major, in-state banks). Gift certificates may also be paid with any of these options (contact your therapist for more info on gift certificates).
Am I supposed to tip my therapist?
-- Tipping is not required, though greatly appreciated if you feel that your therapist has done a wonderful job. Average tipping for the massage industry is between 20%-25%.
